Margaret (Dixon) Williams Obituary
A LIFE REMEMBERED
In Loving Memory of Margaret Williams
Today we gather to honor and celebrate the beautiful life of a devoted mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister, aunt, and a cherished friend whose love became the foundation of her family. On Tuesday May 26, 2026, Heaven rejoiced and welcomed our family’s matriarch into the arms of our Savior.
Margaret Dixon Williams was born on April 11,1942 to Walter and Ida Mae Dixon. Margaret Williams, affectionately known as “Mema” was a woman of strength, warmth, wisdom, and unwavering grace. Always opening her heart and home to those in need of comfort, laughter, and guidance. She was a devoted member of Evangel Fellowship until her health began to fail, yet she remained faithfully connected through streaming services and prayer.
Margaret believed that true education was not only found in books, but in lessons of everyday life. She dedicated herself to teaching her children meaningful life skills -- the importance of hard work, kindness, integrity, compassion, and faith -- instilling values that would guide them throughout their lives and generations to come. To many, Margaret was a trusted confidant and loyal friend whose kindness could brighten even the darkest day. To her family she was the root of the tree, the steady anchor who carried generations through life storms with strength, faith, and unconditional love.
Margaret was preceded in death by her husband, Cleston Williams, and brothers James Dixon, Roy Shaw, Melvin Shaw, and Mitchell Shaw. She is survived by two brothers, Curtis Shaw and Allen Shaw (Mary). She found her greatest joy in her family as a proud mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, she celebrated every milestone, shared every triumph, and comforted every sorrow with tenderness and compassion. Her greatest memories will be cherished in the hearts of her children; James Williams (Lavone), Kenneth Williams (Tyra), Patricia Hargrove, Lora Williams Johnson (Demetrius, Sr.), , grandchildren; Brandon Williams (Jenelle), Cleston Williams (Sarah), Demetrius Johnson, Jr. (Priscilla), Danielle Williams, Davelle Williams, Kennedy Marie Hargrove, Taylor Trinity Johnson, Makenzie Renee Hargrove, Joshua Isaiah Johnson, Kwallen Williams, and 11 great grandchildren, along with a host of cousins, nephews, nieces, and close friends.
She taught those she loved the values of honor, resilience, and grace. Through quiet strength and selfless devotion, she created a legacy that will live on through all that knew her. The lessons she shared and the love she gave will continue to bind her family together.
Though her earthly journey has ended, her spirit remains a guiding light. She leaves behind a family forever grateful for her sacrifices, her prayers, and the countless ways she showed love each and every day. She will be deeply missed, forever cherished, and lovingly remembered as the heart of her family.
