Matthew L. Jordan, 69, passed away Friday, December 8, 2023 at Wesley Long Hospital. 

Matthew was born in Greensboro, NC in 1954 and grew up in McLeansville, NC. Matthew graduated from Northeast Guilford High School, also in McLeansville, NC.  He died peacefully surrounded by family on December 8, 2023.

Matthew served in the United States Air Force for 7½ years as a Non-destructive Inspection Specialist.  During his service years, he earned the Air Force Longevity Service Ribbon, National Defense Service Medal, and Air Force Good Conduct Medal.  He was honorably discharged from the Air Force in 1981. At the time of his death, Matthew was a dedicated employee of Pactiv Evergreen Corporation where he worked for nearly 33 years.

Matthew, better known as “Paw Paw” by his grandchildren, was an avid fan of sports and cars.  He was a great man who loved his family.  He will be greatly missed by his entire family.  His family will cherish the many memories shared with him during cookouts, celebrations, holidays, and vacations.

Matthew was preceded in death by his mother, Velma Foust Jordan and brother, James Jordan. 

He leaves to cherish his memory, his loving wife, Angela Barnes Jordan of Greensboro; daughter, Kina Jordan Morgan and her husband Tridell of Knightdale, NC; sisters Mae Starkes and Karen Jordan of Greensboro; five grandchildren, Jabari Williams, Kayla Jordan, Brianna Jordan, Jason Jordan, and Joshua Jordan, two bonus grandchildren, Ke’Aria Morgan and Eric Morgan and a host of cousins, nieces, and nephews.
