Omega Estella Smith

Ms.Omega Estella Smith (Frog), 72, died Wednesday October 2, 2019 at MedStar Washington Hospital Center,

Washington, DC. She was the fifth child of seven, to the late Henry Ernest Smith and Ella Anabelle Stewart Smith.

She graduated from James B. Dudley High School class of 1965. Later in life she attended Preston College for business and accounting and

the University of the District of Columbia for early childhood development. At a young age Omega knew the Lord.

She was gifted with a lovely voice and used her talent to edify God and loved visiting Clapps Chapel AME in Whitsett,NC

and Locust Grove Baptist in Brown Summit, NC just to name a few. In 1984 she joined the Plymouth Congregational UCC

in Washington, DC where she was re-baptized and became a Missionary for over 40 years. Omega worked in many different

occupations over the years, Taxi dispatcher McNabb Taxi, Woodworth & Lothrop's, United Insurance Company, United Postal workers Union

and retired in 2009 from Hunton and Williams Law firm as their records coordinator.

Omega leaves to cherish her memory one daughter, Tia Smith of Washington, DC. One brother, Henry E. Smith, Jr.(Strossie); five sisters,

Elsie Smith, Doris Huntley, Willie Torian, Marilyn Daniels and Audrey White(Ovid); twenty-two nieces and nephews; great nieces and nephews;

a favorite great niece " Juicy"; a play sister Sandra Faulk; her best friend Donna Sunshine and a host of beloved classmates and friends.

Also two dedicated friends Diane K. Whitt and Patricia Young Suggs. Homegoing celebration will be held Friday, October 11, 2019

at Plymouth Congregational UCC 5301 North Capitol Street, NE Washington, DC visitation at 10 am service began at 11am.

Graveside service held Wednesday, October 16, 2019 at 1PM in Greensboro, NC Forest Lawn Cemetery.
