Patrick William McIntosh Obituary

Patrick William McIntosh’s journey began on August 31, 1963, at Northside Hospital in Youngstown, Ohio — three minutes before his twin sister, Patricia. Those three minutes were enough time for him to take charge, and he never let Patricia forget it. His proud parents, Simmie and Inez Johnson McIntosh, quickly realized that Patrick was a force to be reckoned with. Curious, mischievous, and full of energy, Patrick brought excitement everywhere he went. As he grew into manhood, his vibrant spirit and genuine heart endeared him to everyone around him. He cherished the bonds of family and friendship, always bringing people together with food and laughter.

At the age of five, after the passing of his mother, Patrick’s father relocated the family to Florida to be closer to extended family. He and his siblings were raised in a Church of God in Christ (COGIC) home, where faith, music, and service were deeply rooted. During his father’s pastoral years at Little Wonder COGIC in Pompano Beach, Florida, his love for church life and ministry became deeply embedded. Patrick and his siblings actively served in every part of church life — whether playing instruments, singing in the choir, or assisting wherever they were needed. He became a licensed minister in his early thirties and committed himself to evangelistic outreach.

In high school, Patrick played basketball and football. He was also in the marching band and played the trombone. He graduated in 1981 from Boyd Anderson High School in Ft. Lauderdale, Florida. In 1982, he proudly enlisted in the U.S. Navy. Following his military service, he devoted himself to being a loving father to his two beautiful daughters, Artavia and Kaneesha. Patrick learned the pool construction business from his father, becoming a master craftsman with a career that spanned over 40 years. His skill and reputation took him across the United States and to several other countries and islands, where his craftsmanship and professionalism earned him great respect.

In 1997, Patrick moved to Philadelphia, PA.. As a faithful member of Mt. Airy Church of God in Christ, he became a dedicated leader of the Iron Sharpens Iron mentoring program for young men. He was also committed to Sunday School, Hospitality, and School of the Prophets. One of his most memorable sermons was entitled: Church Without Walls. He lived and breathed outreach ministry.

It was there in 2008 that he met the love of his life, Diana-Ora Horton. From their first meeting, Patrick knew she was “the one.” On December 5, 2010, they were united in marriage. Through their union, Patrick became a devoted father to Jordan and Alexander, whose presence brought him a renewed sense of purpose and fulfillment.

n 2014, Patrick was ordained as an elder and faithfully served on the ministry team of Mt. Airy COGIC. In 2015, he and Diana moved to Chapel Hill, NC and joined Victorious Praise Fellowship COGIC where he served the Hospitality ministry as one of the chefs. In 2022, they moved to Greensboro, NC and joined Evangel Fellowship COGIC. They quickly connected with friends in the marriage ministry and often opened their home for food and fellowship.

Patrick was a lifelong Pittsburgh Steelers fan—his loyalty unwavering since the age of six. He proudly wore the black and gold and never missed a chance to cheer his team on, win or lose. He loved “talking junk” to fans of the opposing team.

Patrick’s greatest passion was cooking, which, combined with his generous spirit, became his ministry. His love language was service—especially through food and fellowship. Whether in the natural or spiritual sense, he found purpose in helping and feeding others. Patrick never met a stranger– everyone was welcomed into his home for a good meal. Even as his health declined, he continued to serve by driving for Uber, not for profit, but as an outreach ministry to share God’s love with others. His faith never wavered; in fact, it grew stronger. He used every opportunity to encourage others, share his faith, and remind people of God’s unwavering grace.

On October 17, 2025, Patrick’s earthly journey came to a peaceful close just the way he wanted it: at home, surrounded by his family. He leaves behind a legacy of faith, service, and joy that will forever live in the hearts of those who knew him.

He is lovingly remembered by his devoted wife Dr. Diana Horton McIntosh; daughters Artavia Miller and Kaneesha McIntosh both of Madison, AL; sons Jordan Scott of Greensboro, NC and Alexander Wiley of Austin, TX; grandson Lorde-Creed McIntosh of Madison, AL; sisters Lorraine Gassett of Seattle, WA, Connie Coley of Melbourne, FL, Dr. Theresa Fitzpatrick (Willie) of Alexandria, VA, Patricia Fitzpatrick (Kelvin) of Kissimmee, FL, Iris Pippen of Youngstown, OH, Raynette Horner (Rick) of Tavares, FL, and Elizabeth McIntosh (Navarre, FL); brothers Jimmie McIntosh (Deloris) of Miramar, FL, Leslie McIntosh of Oakland Park, FL, Mark McIntosh (Helen) of Alexandria, VA, Rodrick McIntosh of Coral Springs, FL, Chauncey McIntosh (Jennifer) of Opa Locka, FL, Alexis McIntosh of Coral Springs, FL, Paul McIntosh of Ft.
