Theodore Alvin Cunningham III, was born on February 24th, 1973 to Theodore Alvin Cunningham Jr. and Demetris Johnson in Chicago, Illinois. Theo was the eldest of 5 children. Known to most as “Theo”, he was affectionately called “Jermaine” by family. Theo was educated by the Chicago, North Carolina, and South Carolina Public School Systems.
Theo loved his job, his sports, playing games, and to travel. Theo was an I. T. guy. He loved working on computers and technology. Theo graduated from ECPI University with an Associates Degree in Computer and Information Science. He enjoyed a rewarding career at Engineered Steel where he worked as a Fitter, and later, a Programmer until his untimely death. He was a faithful employee. Theo LOVED sports….the Chicago Cubs, the Chicago Bulls, and the UNC Tarheels were among his favorite teams. As a youth, he played baseball for Johnson Gas and Oil, football for Athens Drive High School, soccer and basketball for Method Community Center, and enjoyed racing dirt bikes. In his travels, he visited places around the world like Dubai, Thailand, and the Dominican Republic. Theo was friendly and enjoyed people. He enjoyed time with friends and extended family. He will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved him.

Cunningham of Raleigh, NC; Denise L. Hawkins (Jamie) of Knightdale, NC; Nieces, Yasmine C. Cunningham of Raleigh, NC; Janaya D. Hawkins of Knightdale, NC; nephews Jordan A. Giles of Georgetown, SC; Jaylin N. Hawkins of Knightdale, NC; Jarrin N. Hawkins of Knightdale, NC; 2 great nephews, Jaxon Bullock and JC Bullock, of Raleigh, NC extended family Derone and Crystal Penn, Tristan Scott-Jacobs, Niko Penn, Nadia Penn all of Lexington, NC; Cherished loves, Aleida Tobibio Vazquez of Dominican Republic; & Kiara Polanco Torbibio of the Dominican Republic. Theodore also leaves a host of aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends to cherish his memories.
Theo was preceded in death by his father, Theodore Alvin Cunningham Jr; brother, Tyree A. Cunningham, maternal grandparents Moses and Solnia Johnson, maternal grandmother, Mary Hamer; Paternal grandparents, Rev. Theodore A. Cunningham Sr. and Mrs.Toni Cunningham. Theo was also preceded in death by several aunts and uncles.
