Veronica (Feaster) Hester

On Friday morning, January 5, 2024, Veronica Francine Feaster Hester peacefully departed this life to enter her permanent home of rest. She was 72 years of age.

The daughter of Martha Curtis Feaster and the late Raymond Feaster, she was born September 27, 1951, in Guilford County, NC.

Veronica attended the Guilford County Public School System and later graduated from James B. Dudley Senior High School, Class of 1970. She furthered her education and attended Leons Beauty School as a Cosmetologist and attended Randolph Community College, earning a degree in Interior Decorating.

Veronica was a person of multiple talents and accomplishments, which included a Gospel and R&B singer, Beautician, and Interior Decorator. She and her late husband owned and operated Hester Faith Daycare until Veronica’s declining health.

Veronica’s dedication and love for the Lord began at St. John Baptist Church in Climax, NC. After moving back to Greensboro from East Orange, New Jersey, she, and her family joined Godly Love Baptist Church in Greensboro, NC. She faithfully served as a deaconess, pastor’s aide, hospitality committee and sang with the I Smith choir of Godly Love Baptist Church. Her voice was as beautiful as she was.

She met and married the love of her life, Dossie Ray Hester and to their union two children were born, Aaron Hester and Daniel Hester.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Dossie Ray Hester; father, Raymond Hester; and daughter-in-law, Deidra Hester.

Veronica leaves to cherish her loving memories: two sons, Aaron Hester of Greensboro, NC; Daniel (Kristina) Hester of High Point, NC; stepdaughter, Valerie Weston-Bell of East Orange, NJ; mother, Martha Curtis Feaster of Greensboro, NC; one sister, Valerie C. Feaster of Greensboro, NC; four grandchildren, Darius, Noah, Aaris and Elana and two nephews, Carlos (Jennie) Feaster of Durham, NC  and Edwin (Sonia) Feaster of Selma, TX; two great nephews, Isaiah and Nathaniel, seven aunts, two uncles and a host of relatives and friends.
